NARRATIVE

UNIT ONE WAS TRAVELING EAST ON INTERSTATE 80 NEAR THE 112.5 MILE MARKER. UNIT ONE WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN UNIT ONE STRUCK THE GUARD RAIL WHILE ENTERING A BRIDGE. ONCE UNIT ONE HIT THE GUARD RAIL UNIT ONE THEN STRUCK THE CEMENT BRIDGE AND CONTINUED TO SLIDE ACROSS THE BRIDGE BARRIER. UNIT ONE CAME TO REST AT THE END OF THE BRIDGE. THE DRIVER OF UNIT ONE STATED THAT ANOTHER SEMIS ATTEMPTED TO PASS HIM IN THE RIGHT LANE. THE DRIVER OF UNIT ONE STATED THAT AS THE OTHER SEMIS WAS PASSING HE THOUGHT THAT THE OTHER SEMIS WAS GETTING TO CLOSE TO HIM SO HE SWERVED TO THE RIGHT CAUSING HIM TO HIT THE BRIDGE. WHEN UNIT ONE CAME TO REST ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, UNIT ONE WAS HUNG UP AND STUCK ON THE CONCRETE BARRIER. UNIT ONE WAS ALSO LOOSING A FLUID THAT HAD A RED TINT. AFTER VAN METER FIRE DEPARTMENT LOOKED INTO THE SPILL, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RED FLUID WAS NOT DIESEL FUEL, BUT ANTIFREEZE. DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES WAS NOTIFIED OF THE SPILL AND THE DOT WAS ALSO CALLED REFERENCE THE DAMAGE TO THE BRIDGE.
