NARRATIVE

UNIT #1, UNIT #2, AND UNIT #3 WERE ALL TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 80. UNIT #1 WAS PASSING UNIT #2. WHEN UNIT #1 HAD ALMOST COMPLETED THE PASS ON UNIT #2, THE DRIVER OF UNIT #1 LOOKED IN HIS REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW UNIT #3 THAT APPEARED TO BE TAILGATING HIM. UNIT #1 TAPPED HIS BRAKES, UNIT #3 THEN TRIED TO SWITCH LANES AND PASS ON THE RIGHT BETWEEN UNIT #1 AND UNIT #2. UNIT #3 RAN INTO THE BACK OF UNIT #1. UNIT #3 THEN LOST CONTROL SLIDING IN FRONT OF UNIT #2. UNIT #3 SLID ACROSS THE FRONT OF UNIT #2 AND ACROSS THE LANES INTO THE NORTH DITCH. UNIT #3 STRUCK THE DITCH AND CAME TO REST OVER TOP OF A SMALL CREEK. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.
