NARRATIVE

VEHICLES #1,#2, AND #3 WERE ALL WESTBOUND ON I-80 TRAVELING IN THE FAR LEFT LANE WITH VEH #1 IN THE LEAD, FOLLOWED BY VEH #2, THEN VEH #3. AT THE 134.1MILE MARKER, THE VEHICLES ENCOUNTERED STOPPED/SLOWING TRAFFIC DUE TO A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AHEAD. VEH #1 WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP BEHIND THE STOPPED TRAFFIC. VEH #2 BEGAN TO COME TO A STOP BEHIND VEHICLE #1 AND WAS REAR ENDED BY VEH #3. THE REAR-END IMPACT THEN PUSHED VEH #2 FORWARD INTO VEH #1. ALL 3 VEHICLES THEN CAME TO REST IN THE FAR LEFT LANE. THE DRIVER OF VEH #3 ADVISED THAT HER VEHICLE HAD RECENTLY BEEN SERVICED AND BELIEVED THAT THE BRAKES HAD BEEN AFFECTED BY SUCH.
