NARRATIVE

UNIT ONE WAS MERGING ON TO INTERSTATE 35 WHEN THE DRIVER MERGED INTO THE PATH OF UNIT TWO. UNIT TWO WAS UNABLE TO SWITCH LANES DUE TO A NON-CONTACT VEHICLE ACTIVELY PASSING IN THE LEFT LANE. A COLLISION RESULTED WITH UNIT TWO HITTING UNIT ONE IN A REAR-END COLLISION. THE COLLISION RESULTED IN UNIT ONE CROSSING BOTH LANES OF NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC, THE MEDIAN, AND BOTH LANES OF SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC. UNIT ONE CAME TO A REST IN THE WEST DITCH. THE DRIVER OF UNIT ONE WAS TRANSPORTED TO CLARKE COUNTY HOSPITAL BY NEW VIRGINIA AMBULANCE FOR A NON RELATED HEALTH PROBLEM. THE DRIVER OF UNIT TWO REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT. UNIT ONE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. UNIT TWO WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY UNDER ITS OWN POWER.
