NARRATIVE

UNIT 2 WAS TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON HIGHWAY 5 NEAR THE 49 MILE MARKER. UNIT 2 WAS SLOWING DOWN AND HAD TURN SIGNAL ON ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A FIELD DRIVE. UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING BEHIND UNIT 2 SOUTH BOUND AS WELL. UNIT 1 STATED THAT HE WAS DISTRACTED BY THE TRACTORS IN THE FIELD TO THE WEST AND DIDN'T OBSERVE UNIT 2 SLOWING DOWN. WHEN UNIT 1 OBSERVED UNIT 2 SLOWING DOWN TO TURN UNIT 1 BRAKED AND REALIZED THAT HE COULDN'T STOP IN TIME TO AVOID A COLLISION. UNIT 1 THEN STEERED AROUND UNIT 2 A STRUCK THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE ON UNIT 2 AS HE ATTEMPTED A LEFT TURN. UNIT 1 THEN WENT INTO THE EAST DITCH AND UNIT 2 STOPPED IN THE FIELD DRIVE.
