NARRATIVE

UNIT 1 WAS SOUTHBOUND ON INTERSTATE 35 NORTH OF THE 145 MILE-MARKER OVERPASS. THE DRIVER OF UNIT 1; WAS OPERATING A COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS, ON ICE AND SNOW COVERED ROADWAY WITH BLOWING SNOW, THE WIND EFFECTED THE LIGHTLY LOADED TRAILER OF THE VEHICLE (< 12000 LBS), LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. JACKKNIFED ACROSS THE MEDIAN, COMING TO REST WITH THE TRACTOR FACING NORTHBOUND NEAR THE NORTHBOUND ROADWAY, AND TRAILER PROTRUDING INTO THE PASSING LANE OF THE SOUTHBOUND LANE.
