NARRATIVE

UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON HWY 34 E OF GLENWOOD AND WAS BEING PURSUED BY VEHICLE 2, DEPUTY 65-8 OF THE MILLS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHILE EASTBOUND ON HWY 34 JUST EAST OF THE INGRAM INTERCHANGE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE UNIT 2, UNIT 1 ENTERED THE MEDIAN, SLID ACROSS THE WESTBOUND LANES OF HWY 34, AND SLID INTO THE WETBOUND DITCH AND CAME TO REST. DRIVER AND PASS OF UNIT 1 FLED THE SCENE ON FOOT. MINOR DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO UNIT 2 DURING THE PURSUIT AS IT CROSSED THE MEDIAN BEHIND UNIT 1.
