| NARRATIVE |
ON 9-5-2010 AT APPROXIMATELY 0005 HOURS, DEPUTY JESSE SWENSEN, INITIATED A VEHICLE PURSUIT ON P-28 IN GUTHRIE COUNTY. THE PURSUIT CAME INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF PANORA, IOWA VIA P-28. ONCE INTO THE CITY LIMITS OF PANORA VEHICLE #1 TURNED ON TO EAST JACKSON STREET WITH UNIT 2 FOLLOWING BEHIND. THE VEHICLES CAME TO THE INTERSECTION OF W JACKSON STREET AND SW 5TH STREET AT 0011 HOURS. UNIT 2 USED A PURSUIT INTERVENTION TECHNIQUE. THIS CAUSED VEHICLE 1 TO DO A 360 SPIN IN THE ROADWAY AND TRAVEL OFF OF THE ROADWAY OVER A LANDSCAPE BED AND THEN INTO A TREE. UNIT 2 TRAVELED STRAIGHT OFF THE ROADWAY OVER A LANDSCAPE WALL AND CAME TO REST IN A PRIVATE LAWN. THE DRIVER OF UNIT 1 WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE GUTHRIE COUNTY HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. |
