NARRATIVE

UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 14 JUST BEFORE THE MILE LONG BRIDGE AROUND MILE MARKER 51. THE DRIVER OF UNIT 1 FELL ASLEEP AND DRIFTED INTO THE NORTHBOUND LANE AND THEN STRUCK THE GUARD WIRE ON THE EASTBOUND SHOULDER. A WITNESS WAS TRAVELING NORTH AND HAD TO VEER INTO THE SOUTHBOUND LANE TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE DRIVER ADMITTED TO ME THAT HE FELL ASLEEP AND WAS COMING FROM DMACC IN ANKENY
